Need Welfare Units in Worcestershire? We Can Help

As one of the top providers of welfare units in Worcestershire, we have offered our services to a wide range of businesses.  When you need to offer welfare units (also known as Portable Toilets) then you want to work with a company who are well adapted to working with a variety of companies and locations to get the facilities you need.

Construction sites

One of the most common locations that we visit to supply welfare units is to construction sites.  These sites often don’t have their own facilities either because they have not yet been created or because they are undergoing renovation.  However, there is a need under the law to offer welfare unit facilities ‘so far as is reasonably practicable’ for the people working on the site.

Not only do you need to offer them, but you need to offer the right number based on the people count using the site.  HSE state that the must be an ‘adequate’ number of facilities available and these need to have washing facilities beside the toilets.  If you don’t have the right facilities on site, you can even end up receive a fine for it.

We can help you assess the site, where the units would be best located and what units you require based on the numbers and type of work taking place.  Our experience means we are used to working with businesses to fulfil their requirements and are well versed in relevant HSE laws and regulations.  So you don’t have to worry about doing a lot of research – we can sort everything out for you.

Outdoor events

Another major area that we help with the supply of welfare units for are outdoor events.  These can range from small school events through to massive outdoor festivals and celebrations.  Fetes, fairs and festivals often need these types of facilities as they take place in areas with no existing toilet blocks or other facilities.  And even if there are facilities, these may not be available for use for people attending the event.

Again, there are regulations in place about how many Portable Toilets and welfare units you need for the size of the event.  For example, local fetes and community events with no food or alcohol being served and lasting no longer than six hours can have 1 unit for every 100 female guests and another for every 500 male guests.

Larger community events that last longer but still have no food or alcohol involved should work on a toilet for every 85 women expected to attend and one unit per 425 men or a urinal unit for every 125 men expected to attend.

Finally, for larger events lasting over six hours and with food and drink being served, the ratios are recommended at one per 75 women and one per 400 men with extra urinals for every 100.  But don’t worry if you aren’t sure exactly what you need, we can also help with the figures and ensure you have enough facilities for the rules and for attendee’s comfort!
